About Ballinkeele House

Drive up the avenue to Ballinkeele and be greeted at the door by your hosts Val & Laura, the fifth generation of the Maher family who built the house in the 1840s. Enjoy a welcome tea or coffee with homemade treats in the drawing room after your journey, where you can sit down by the fire with a good book. Borrow some wellies and head out for a walk around the grounds of 350 acres with walled gardens, woodland walks, a lake, ponds and fascinating stable yards. Ballinkeele is a truly secluded spot where visitors really can slow down, relax and recharge – spending time together, or with friends and family, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The house, a beautifully proportioned Georgian Italianate mansion has been lovingly restored. It retains all of its original charm, and many antiques, but is centrally-heated with clean & modern bathrooms & WiFi. Val and Laura along with their four children are passionate about their home and its’ history and are happy to share it.
